Series artist Jonathan Burton has provided 12 full-page colour illustrations as well as four spectacular double-page spreads, while the interior of the slipcase hides an ominous image of Aeron Greyjoy, a priest of the Drowned God. Burton has also created a set of unique chapter-opener motifs, one for each point-of-view character, while the binding captures the conflict of a world torn apart by magic and ambition. Family trees and genealogical tables have been updated for this edition to reflect new alliances as well as births and deaths.
