How membership works

The Folio Society depends entirely on the support of its members and we have found that asking members to buy 4 books in each membership year is the best way for us to be able to produce our high quality books at affordable prices.

Our membership year begins on September 1 at which time we send members a catalogue with details of new books for the year and a free gift offer.

As a member you receive details of other new titles as they become available throughout the year, often at special introductory discounts. There are also seasonal sales with even bigger member savings. You’ll also receive the Folio Magazine, published twice a year, which brings you specially commissioned articles by noted writers.

On our website you’ll find an even wider range of books, a Folio News page plus a monthly quiz with great prizes to be won. You can also sign up to receive our monthly Newsletter with previews of forthcoming Folio publications and features about authors, illustrators and events.

Non-members are invited to join the Society by accepting one of our special introductory offers. Our joining offers usually require the purchase of 4 books from our extensive list of current publications. Once the terms of the offer have been fulfilled there is no further obligation. As a new member you will receive exclusive member offers for the remainder of the membership year in which you join after which you will be invited to continue your membership.

As long as you accept at least one membership offer per membership year, you will continue to be a member. If you fail to buy any books in any one membership year, your membership will lapse.
