About the Author
Astrid Lindgren (1907–2002) was a Swedish author whose work has become a cornerstone of children’s literature. In 1945 she created the iconic Pippi Longstocking (Folio 2025), and her books have sold over 165 million copies worldwide. Lindgren’s work is known for its humour, independence and empathy, and has been translated into over 100 languages. She received numerous awards, including the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1958.
