Editor's Notes

Spanning some 18 million years, Liu Cixin's masterpiece is as broad as it is compelling. A tale of humanity's struggle, and that of a civilisation fighting for its very existence, this dares to answer the question 'Are we alone in the Universe?' Beautifully and brilliantly evoked in Matt Griffin's artwork, this is the ultimate edition of an award-winning science-fiction phenomenon, complete with the author's own signature and a new introduction.
Synopsis

What happens when we realise we're not alone in the universe? And what happens to any civilisation unwise enough to broadcast its location? This award-winning series starts with a moment of violence in 1967, ends with humanity facing the vast, cold truth of the universe, and throughout charts an epic tale of first contact, fragile alliances and the battle for survival across millennia.

When physicist Ye Wenjie sends a signal to space during China's Cultural Revolution, she sets in motion a chain of events that will unravel human civilisation. As scientists die under mysterious circumstances and a virtual world of three suns reveals impossible physics, Earth learns it has been targeted by an alien fleet – and not all humans oppose their arrival.

From secret scientific cabals to interstellar diplomacy, from unfolding dimensions to weaponised sophons, this award-winning trilogy – The Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest and Death's End – is a bold fusion of science, suspense and narrative grandeur. This is not just the story of a planet under threat; it's a philosophical reckoning with our place in the cosmos.
