Synopsis

In a poignant tale of memory, mortality and myth, the last unicorn begins a quest to uncover the truth about her lost kin. In an epic journey of harrowing danger and immense love, she picks up a ragtag band of companions including Schmendrick, a hapless magician, and the kind-hearted but world-weary Molly Grue, before finally confronting the tyrannical King Haggard and his terrifying Red Bull. But should she fail, then unicorns will be lost – forever. Told in prose that shimmers with lyricism and melancholy, Beagle's work endures as a masterpiece of 20th century fantasy literature.
