Editor's Notes

We all think we know James Bond. The suits, the gadgets, the martinis. But when you go back to Ian Fleming’s original novels, you discover something far more compelling. These stories are stylish and sharp, yes, but also darker, stranger and far more emotionally complex than the films ever let on.

Bringing Bond to Folio has been a proper thrill. Each book has been carefully designed to match the mood of the novels, from the typography to the cloth bindings to the sleek slipcases that feel like they’ve stepped straight out of M’s office. And then there’s Fay Dalton’s artwork. From the tension of the baccarat table in Casino Royale, to the icy landscapes of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and the golden menace of Goldfinger, her illustrations capture the glamour, grit and danger that pulse through every chapter.

This collection doesn’t just look good – it’s crafted to be read. Whether you’re following Bond into the underworld of Live and Let Die, the deadly beauty of From Russia with Love, the treacherous waters of Thunderball, or the shadowy missions of Octopussy and The Living Daylights, these editions deliver the full force of Fleming’s original vision.
