‘A wonderful wit … I’ve read her over and over and over again.’
  1. Stephen Fry

The daughter of a country parson with limited means, Arabella dreams of starting a new life in the milieu of London’s high society. Her looks, charm and the benevolence of a doting godmother are sufficient to secure her first season in the capital, but it isn’t long before her notoriously short temper results in a run-in with the dashing Robert Beaumaris. Is this the start of a raging battle of wills or a tempestuous courtship? Beautifully illustrated by Sally Dunne, and published in series with the best-selling Venetia, this gorgeous edition is a must-have for Georgette Heyer fans and anyone who couldn't tear themselves away from the glitz, glamour and gossip of Bridgerton. This is regency romance at its finest, with a female protagonist as independent as the era allowed, and all the exacting period details that have ensured Heyer’s continued reign as queen of the genre.
