Announcing Footnotes - the latest Folio blog

Following on from 'Joe's Blog', written by our Production Director and focusing on Folio limited editions, we are delighted to launch 'Footnotes', a new blog delivering news, views and insider updates on our core publications.

In the first post, Folio Publisher Catherine Taylor considers the much-peddled rivalry between the e-reader and the printed word, asking whether a harmonious co-existence might leave both victorious in the 'battle of the books'. She notes Bloomsbury's recent promise to revive out-of-circulation work by V. S. Pritchett (pictured) via its new digital stream - a renewed interest also reflected by the recent Folio edition of his work in The Camberwell Beauty and other Stories, a collection selected and introduced by one of today's masters of shorter fiction, William Trevor.

In the second post, Production Manager Melanie Gradtke interviews award-winning artists Anna and Elena Balbusso, who illustrated our editions of Ivan Turgenev's First Love, and the great chivalric poem The Song of Roland. Tnterview focuses on their latest commission - Margaret Atwood's dystopian masterpiece, The Handmaid's Tale.
