Exhibition of artwork by Peter Firmin and family

Illustrators of Folk Tales of Britain display their work

Peter Firmin, celebrated illustrator (and co-creator of the beloved children's television programme Bagpuss, among others) is showing a selection of engravings at the Horsebridge Arts and Community Centre in Whitstable, Kent from 14 - 20 April. These include early illustrations from books on country life, as well as new prints from illustrations commissioned by The Folio Society for one of the volumes of Katharine M. Briggs's Folk Tales of Britain, recently published. Peter's daughter Hannah, who illustrated another volume in the set, is also presenting her work, including some of these engravings. To complement the 'Folk Tales and Fables' theme of the show, Charlotte and Josie Firmin, also artists, will be showing some new drawings and watercolours.

You can find out more about the show by emailing info@horsebridge-centre.org.uk. If you'd like to read more about Folk Tales of Britain and the Firmins's marvellous illustrations for it, click here.
