Coleridge on display in the British Library's Folio Society Gallery

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner - poetry, reading, art

First published in 1798, Samuel Taylor Coleridge's famous poem is one of the preeminent works of the Romantic movement - its enduring appeal demonstrated by the popularity of our latest limited edition. A new exhibition is about to open in the British Library's Folio Society Gallery, focusing on the Library's collection of manuscripts, printed books and sound recordings related to the poem, and examines the poem within the wider context of Coleridge's life and his creative friendship with William Wordsworth. A particular highlight is the work by illustrators and writers who have been inspired by the poem's vivid imagery. Details of the exhibition are available here.

The new Folio Society limited edition is on display featuring stunning wood engravings by Harry Brockway. More than half of the limitation has already been sold, but there are some bound copies, still unreserved, now available for immediate despatch. If you are interested in this edition we urge you to reserve a copy soon. With the exhibition opening on 6 December, we anticipate these will sell fast. You can read more about our edition here.
