Booker shortlist announced

Peter Carey in the running to be three-time winner

The shortlist for the Man Booker Prize 2010 was announced today. From the longlist of 13 titles, the judges have selected Peter Carey's Parrot and Olivier in America, Emma Donoghue's Room, Damon Galgut's In a Strange Room, Howard Jacobson's The Finkler Question, Andrea Levy's The Long Song, and Tom McCarthy's C.

Peter Carey is the only shortlisted author to have won the prize before – in fact he has won twice, once in 1988 and again in 2001.
