Folio to publish Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin series in its entirety

Celebrating 40 years since the publication of Master & Commander

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the first publication of the late Patrick O'Brian's Master & Commander - and with the first seven titles in the series proving popular, we are pleased to announce to collectors that we will be completing the series (20 volumes in all) over the next 5 years.

Since we published the first book two years ago, we have been delighted to find that so many of our members share our enthusiasm for O'Brian's naval adventures. Our picture researchers are enthusiastically immersing themselves in the archives sourcing engravings, contemporary cartoons and the many paintings of sea battles in the Napoleonic era. As a complete matching set of 20 volumes, they will make a handsome display.

Two new titles have recently been published - The Fortune of War and The Surgeon's Mate - bringing Jack and Stephen through some hair-raising adventures in Boston and Paris. We already have plans to produce another four titles in the next membership year - which include Stephen Maturin's long and deadly hunt for the highly placed spy who is working to discredit him. As Jack Aubrey would say, 'We have days of blue water sailing ahead and we mean to enjoy every minute.'
